Press Release: Democrats fell asleep and didn't know it.
Democrats: “I think I fell asleep and didn’t even know it.” During a decisive bi-partisan meeting this afternoon, a Democrat representative – whose identity will be spared – pried herself from her chair and mumbled, “I think I fell asleep and didn’t even know it.” This lapse in concentration and commitment epitomizes the Democrats’ failure as a political party. Dedicated Republicans, in a good faith effort, attempted to negotiate a suitable budget compromise, but were quickly rebuffed by short-sighted, lifeless Democrats. Rep. Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) spearheaded the meeting and was shocked and dismayed by the Democrat’s behavior: “I went out of my way to meet with Democrat representatives and endeavored to understand their six schizophrenic budget proposals, but was unable to obtain a straight answer or even a conscious and thoughtful exchange.” Both Republicans and Democrats published their respective budget proposals yesterday after a fury of in-party negotiations. Republicans – in a powerful display of solidarity and vision – proposed a single, comprehensive budget committed to national security and a robust economy. Democrats, on the other hand, stumbled out of their negotiations with six drastically divergent budget proposals, symbolizing their political incompetence. Some political analysts, in an effort to rationalize the six budget alternatives, argue the Democrats are attempting to overwhelm and confuse Republicans by offering a myriad of proposals. Insiders close to the party indicate, however, a fractured and overzealous Democratic leadership has lost all grips on political reality. With only a few days before the final vote is cast, Democrats are scrambling to regroup and siphon off various moderate Republicans. Current trends indicate that this will be a difficult, if not impossible, task. Smith Johnson, President of Citizens for a Stronger America, reports.
